Vernon Hartshorne

Vernon Hartshorne (MBACP, ATSAC) Clinical Consultant

Vernon comes to us with a wealth of experience having worked in a host of top rehabs around the world, a true expert in the field of addiction. He has a very calming presence that helps him handle a range of situations with clients and a background that helps him to connect to a host of different clients from all walks of life.

A man with an astonishing CV, he demonstrates a real passion for what he does. He truly has found his calling in life which is evident in those he has helped. He is highly experienced in the world of addiction and has also worked closely and is experienced in both eating disorder therapy as well as sex addiction.

Bali Beginnings is truly blessed to have a man of his skill and purposefulness supporting our clients in recovery.


Howard St John Smith Founder

Howard is the founder of the organisation, and is uniquely passionate about helping others. A born giver, you will usually find him either with someone he is sponsoring in recovery, a client, or building a new renovation for a local homeless shelter!

Howard, along with his family were the original donors to the cause, and his family has been greatly impacted by addiction and this drives an incredible passion to help prevent other families going through similar pain.

Diana Wijayanty Relationship Manager

Diana comes to the foundation from a management role with one of the worlds leading hotel chains.

Her attention to detail, passion for quality is relentless. As well as a passion for fine nutritious food services, she is no stranger to managing and motivating teams.

She is our in-house talent and looks after PR and selected international partnerships.

When Diana is not beavering away at work she enjoys creating, art, and playing the guitar


Kadek Dwi Parwati Operational Manager

Kadek epitomises the balinese culture of serenity, family values, honesty and caring. She has been educating and teaching in Balinese Schools and Colleges for over 15 years. Specialising in English, Business Studies,and Human Resource management, she has also headed up the recruitment for one of the leading travel companies on the island.

Recently Kadek has chosen to apply her breadth of skills to helping others. Kadek ensures the facility and the program run seamlessly.
