It could be described as a silent killer in our communities – killing our friends and families. The affects are both physical and mental.

Alcohol abuse has become a bigger problem for societies and clear solutions are difficult to identify and implement.

Ethanol, alcohol inn its pure form, is volatile, flammable, and is used a fuel. It is therefore little wonder that is not good for the body, physically.

EFFECTS OF ALCOHOL

Some negative effects of alcohol;

  • Brain damage: – alcohol is proven to kill your brain and nervous system. It will seriously affect your thinking capacity and hence creativity. It can also affect lot of long-lasting psychological effects like anxiety and depression.
  • Cancer: – considered as the second biggest reason for cancer, alcohol can promote tumor growth. .
  • Liver problems: – liver cirrhosis is a serious liver disease and is arguably the main harmful effect of alcohol. In latter stages, liver damage can develop into liver cancer.
  • Heart attacks: – as consuming alcohol increases the blood pressure, it can increase the chances of a heart attack.
