In 2020, like much of the world, we were forced to stop.
Borders closed. Travel halted. Our Bali rehab, usually a place filled with life, stories, and transformation, had to shut down.
At the time, no one knew how long the shutdown would last, or what would come next. But for us, we saw it as an opportunity to deeply reflect on how we can level up even more our Good Treatment. Instead of rushing to return to “normal,” we asked ourselves something far more important:
What if this pause is an opportunity to get even better?
🎥 Watch our Founding Director share this story firsthand:
Rethinking the Standard Model of Rehab
We’ve always held ourselves to a high standard. Our programme is clinically strong, trauma-informed, and deeply personalised. We have 24/7 onsite medical support, experienced psychologists, and a maximum of just a handful of clients at a time, so every person gets the attention they deserve. But the pause gave us space to examine our work more closely, and to do something that many rehab centres never do: evolve.
We focused on three key areas:
1. Education That Actually Lands
In most rehabs, education comes in the form of lectures, printouts, or pre-recorded videos. The intention is good, but the delivery doesn’t always land. And here’s the truth: people don’t change just because they’re given facts. They change when they feel something, when they connect what they’re learning to their own lived experience.
So we redesigned our educational approach to be more:
-
Engaging – with active, discussion-based learning
-
Relevant – tied directly to real-life challenges in recovery
-
Empowering – not just about what’s wrong, but how to grow
Today, we focus on dialogue, not monologue. Our sessions are practical, not abstract. And rather than naming the problem, we help people build the tools to grow past it. We want our clients to leave not only sober but informed, self-aware, and equipped with skills that last.

2. AfterCare That Doesn’t End Too Soon
Another thing we noticed during the pause, and honestly, something that’s bothered us for a while, is how abruptly most rehab programmes end. A client finishes their stay, they go home, and suddenly, they’re on their own.
We don’t think that’s good enough.
Recovery doesn’t end when rehab ends. In fact, that’s often when the real challenges begin: returning home, facing relationships, navigating everyday stress, and staying grounded without the daily structure of treatment.
That’s why we created an 24-month AfterCare programme and made it a core part of what we offer, not just a nice-to-have. This extended support includes regular coaching, therapeutic follow-up, and personalised check-ins to keep our clients supported, accountable, and on track.

3. A Healing Environment That Holds You
There’s a reason we’re based in Bali, and why we chose to move into a new facility that reflects our values. Bali offers something rare: a peaceful rhythm, a deep connection to nature, and a sense of stillness that supports real healing.
Our centre is surrounded by tropical gardens and designed to feel calm, safe, and non-clinical. With private rooms, open spaces, and low client numbers, we’ve created an environment where the nervous system can settle and clients can focus fully on their recovery.
Bali’s natural beauty, combined with our intentional design, offers the space people need to step away from old patterns, and begin again with clarity, presence, and peace. Our clients often tell us that just being here, surrounded by nature, culture, and warmth, is part of what helped them heal.
Whether it’s walking barefoot on the grass, watching the sunrise before group therapy, or hearing the birds in the morning, these subtle experiences play a big role in recovery. They help people reconnect not only with their sobriety but with life itself.
